Mr. G. Jackson (Jack) Miller

G. Jackson “Jack” Miller was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania on December 23, 1928. He was a 1946 graduate of Lewistown High School. He was the founder, owner, and operator of Miller’s Wholesale Florist, Inc. in Altoona, Lewiston, and Williamsport from 1950-1972. He retired in 1990.

Jack was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewistown, and Lake United Methodist Church, Fort Myers (FL). Jack was the longest living member of Improved Dwellings for Altoona, Inc., which manages affordable housing in Blair, Cambria, Centre and Clearfield counties.

When Jack passed away on June 5, 2018, the AU Development Office learned that he had included Africa University in his estate plans. The Africa University family is grateful to Jack for believing in the future of the institution and the worth of its mission.
