Ms. Rebecca W. Eleazer

name

Rebecca, life-long United Methodist, is a member of Francis Burns United Methodist Church in Columbia, SC. She is an active participant in the United Methodist Women and has served in leadership positions at the local unit, district, and conference levels. Rebecca fell in love with Africa University when she had the opportunity to travel to Zimbabwe in 2002 for the university's 10th anniversary celebrations. She has been a life member of AU Honorary Alumni Association since 2005. Rebecca retired from the South Carolina Employment Security Commission in 2008 after 35 years of faithful service, and now spends her time walking, volunteering, and traveling.

Rebecca's initial impression of Africa University was, and still remains, that it is a "melting pot" for the continent of Africa where students come from many countries seeking a quality education. Graduates are dispersed across the continent to improve the lives of their fellow compatriots. In addition to providing a quality education, Africa University helps students to grow in spiritual maturity and to develop sound moral values, ethics, and leadership qualities. For Rebecca, the university's mission is a worthy one, and she feels honored to be able to invest in the institution's future by including it in her estate plans.
